WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Texas State Technical College’s Culinary Arts Program opened its student-run restaurant for the fall semester on Wednesday.

The program allows students to perfect their culinary craft with hands on experiences; everything from serving meals, preparing them, and learning dining etiquette.

Chef Instructor Mark Diamond tells us the program is unique in many ways, but what stands out is the students research they put in and they price out their cuisine - furthering their real world experience even more.

Culinary Student Lorena Cibrian runs her own cake business. After she completes this program she plans to expand that with the knowledge she’s gained.
