The Eye Foundation, a leading eye care chain in South India headquartered in Coimbatore, has raised $75 million funding from consumer-focused investment firm Verlinvest.

The investment marks one of the largest single specialty healthcare investments by a private equity firm in India and signals growing interest in single-specialty healthcare in the country. This is also Verlinvest’s largest commitment in Indian healthcare space.

The proceeds of the investment will be used to drive expansion via new greenfield centers and brownfield acquisitions, for further strengthening of customer experience, and increase reach of the chain.
