NEW YORK (PIX11) – Drivers, you can say goodbye to potholes.

Some 300 miles of roads will be repaved in New York City and Long Island next year, making for less bumpy rides.

In New York City, 75 miles of lanes will be repaved, including on the Belt Parkway, Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, Grand Central Parkway and Long Island Expressway. On Long Island, 225 miles of lanes will be repaved.

Altogether, it’ll cost the state over $600 million to smooth New Yorkers’ commutes next year, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Wednesday.

“I know firsthand every curve and every pothole,” Hochul said. “New Yorkers will be seeing crews out there like never before next year.”
