STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 31-year-old man led police on a wild chase after fleeing from a car stop in a busy commercial district in New Dorp, authorities allege.

Peter Decasperis of Brook Avenue in Oakwood was arrested on Sept. 15, several weeks after the alleged incident, which began at Hylan Boulevard and Beach Avenue.
