Congress slammed North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council Chief Debolal Gorlosa for allegedly issuing death threats to a local resident identified as Neijaylal Khelma, from NEEPCO Colony in Umrangso, the industrial hub of the district.

According to the FIR filed by Khelma at the Umrangso Police Station, the incident occurred on October 9 at around 7:25 PM, when Khelma allegedly received a phone call from the mobile number of NCHAC member Prajit Hojai. During the call, CEM Debolal Gorlosa allegedly threatened to shoot him and his family, saying that “no one will even find your body.”

The complainant further stated that on October 16 around 9 am, Gorlosa summoned his brother, Neijoythang Khelma, and pressured him to withdraw the complaint filed against him.
