The pipping ceremony of Olympic gold medallist and Lt. Colonel (Honorary) Neeraj Chopra was held on Wednesday in New Delhi.

New Delhi: Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra was on Wednesday conferred the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army, in a ceremony held in New Delhi. The event was attended by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi. The appointment, as per The Gazette of India, took effect from April 16.
