Amazon will pay some Prime users up to $51 after a $2.5 billion settlement with the Federal Trade Commission.
The retail giant agreed to the settlement to resolve an antitrust lawsuit filed by the FTC in 2023, in which federal officials alleged that Amazon coerced millions of consumers into enrolling in Prime subscriptions and then made those agreements extremely difficult to cancel.
In order to be eligible for the claim, Amazon users must have signed up for Prime between June 23, 2019, and June 23, 2025, according to the court order . Customers must have also tried to cancel the subscription with failure or signed up for Prime through one of several avenues.
