(CNN) - Nearly 300,000 Dodge cars have been recalled for a cable issue that impacts parking.
Stellantis is recalling more than 298,000 Dodge Darts over a shifter cable problem that could prevent the driver from putting the vehicle in park.
The recall affects certain Dodge Darts from the 2013 through 2016 model years.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the shifter cables could detach from the transmission.
As a result, the vehicle would not be able to shift into the park position.
Customers will first get a notification by mail early next month that explains the safety risk.
They will then be contacted again once a remedy is available.
