NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — New York City Mayor Eric Adams is expected to endorse independent candidate former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo as his successor, a spokesperson for Adams told PIX11 News on Thursday.
During Wednesday night’s final mayoral debate, Cuomo was the only candidate who said he’d accept an endorsement from Adams when asked by moderators.
Adams "intends to campaign alongside [Cuomo]" in the final days leading up to the election, the spokesperson said.
Adams, who dropped out of the mayoral race on Sept. 28, has previously called Cuomo a “snake and a liar,” as well as the pair of Mamdani and Cuomo “spoiled brats.”
Adams and Cuomo were seen together at the Knicks' season opener at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday after the debate.
