MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) --- A Queens mother admitted she left her baby girl near a subway staircase in Penn Station shortly after she gave birth, prosecutors said Thursday.
The woman, whose name is not being published by PIX11, told investigators she gave birth late Sunday night into Monday morning before she took her newborn to the Manhattan subway station at around 9:25 a.m. Monday, according to the criminal complaint.
Prosecutors said the mom was caught on surveillance video carrying the baby wrapped in a blanket when she entered the Penn Station subway station at 34th Street and Seventh Avenue just after 9 a.m. Shortly after, she was spotted leaving the station without the child.
