WAUSAU − The Wausau East and Wausau West volleyball programs joined forces once again for their annual Pink Ribbon Volley, raising over $12,000 to support local residents battling breast cancer.

The event, held Sept. 25 at Wausau West High School, featured a variety of activities, including a raffle, 50/50 drawing, bake sale and the much-anticipated rivalry match between the two schools, according to a community announcement.

Before the varsity match, players, coaches and fans gathered to honor the memory of a former Wausau East player and coach who recently passed away from metastatic breast cancer.
