A parent is facing charges after allegedly threatening a teacher at Pleasantview Elementary School in Eastpointe.
According to Eastpointe police Lt. Alexander Holish, officers were dispatched to the school at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 22 to investigate a threat to “shoot up the school.”
Investigators learned that a parent who was upset that his child did not get a “snack time” approached a teacher during dismissal and began questioning him about why the student did not have a “snack time.”
According to witnesses, the parent then started screming, cursing, and threatening the teacher in front of staff, parents, and students.
The suspect threatened multiple times to come back the next day and “air the place out” which is a common slang term meaning to shoot up the place, according to Holish.
