Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier was arrested on Oct. 23 following an FBI investigation into an NBA gambling scandal.

It was first reported that Rozier was being investigated in January 2025 for unusual betting activity following his performance during March 2023 game. The former Charlotte Hornets and Boston Celtics guard departed the game with an injury after playing just 9:34 minutes.

The scheme previously implicated former Toronto Raptors forward, Jontay Porter. Portland Trail Blazers' head coach Chauncey Billups was the other active member of the NBA to be arrested on Oct. 23.

Rozier was traded to the Heat in January 2024 and is currently in the final season of his contract with the team.

Rozier inked a four-year extension worth around $96.3 million with the Charlotte Hornets ahead of the 2022 NBA season, according to Spotrac.

The deal was the 31-year-old's third contract since entering the NBA in 2015 as a first-round pick by the Celtics. It was also his biggest deal to date, topping his previous two contracts combined.

Rozier's current contract comes with an average salary of $24 million. Like most NBA contracts, the $96.3 million was fully guaranteed.

Rozier carries a salary cap hit of $26.6 million in 2025 and he is set to be an unrestricted free agent after the 2025-26 season.
