To the Editor:

I sincerely enjoyed reading Charlie Miller’s list of “hidden gems” not included in the Travel & Leisure tribute to Syracuse as a “charming and underrated” New York city ( “Travel & Leisure just discovered Syracuse. That’s cute, but here are 7 hidden gems they missed,” Oct. 21, 2025). I endorse them all. But let’s lift our sights above bars, pizza and diners to mention some cultural oversights of the Travel & Leisure piece.

Our Everson Museum is a major “hidden gem.” Designed by I.M. Pei (his first museum project, to be followed by the Louvre!) houses the nation’s foremost ceramics collection and regularly mounts exhibits that pulse with the creativity of contemporary American art.
