The NBA world got quite the shock early Tuesday morning when Heat guard Terry Rozier and Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups were arrested for separate gambling-related crimes. The two were among over 30 people arrested by the FBI on Tuesday.
Rozier was arrested for the alleged offenses for which he had previously been under federal investigation, while Billups was arrested for alleged involvement in rigged poker games connected to the mafia.
While Billups and Rozier were not connected in their alleged offenses, one person was involved in both: former NBA guard Damon Jones.
Jones played in the NBA for 11 years before becoming an assistant coach — most memorably being the coach JR Smith threw a bowl of soup at — and a personal shooting coach for LeBron James after the two became friends
