A move to hold a two-day Christmas street festival in Wolverhampton city centre has been blocked.
The festive comedy and music event in Castle Street in Wolverhampton, billed Christmas on Castle Street, is expected to be held on December 26 and 27 later this year.
But the plans were dealt a blow after a request for a temporary licence for the event’s beer tent in Castle Street’s former Express & Star offices was rejected by City of Wolverhampton Council at a hearing on Thursday (October 23).
The event has been organised by Ben Anslow, owner of Castle Street cafe SPACE, who is also developing the newspaper’s former long-time headquarters into new apartments.
