Dan Kennedy gets the scoop: boston.com, which started out as the online face of the Globe and briefly became the wacky alterna-Globe with its own newsroom when bostonglobe.com became the official face of the Globe online before quieting down into its current role as the place you can see excerpts of Globe stories without paying for them, will be adding a "metered paywall" that it may or may not share with Boston Magazine, which the Globe now also owns. Kennedy surmises that you'll still be able to read X number of articles for free, or you'll be asked for $5 a month for unfettered access.
