A Suffolk Superior Court jury today convicted Rudy Jean-Baptiste, 35, of Roslindale, of voluntary manslaughter for the stabbing death of Mackenson Henry inside the La Familia barbershop, 1205 Hyde Park Ave. in Hyde Park, on May 26, 2018, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Judge Katie Rayburn scheduled sentencing for Dec. 5; Jean-Baptiste faces a sentence of between 3 and 20 years.

According to the DA's office:

Jean-Baptiste claims Henry assaulted him with a chain held by a pair of vice grips, and that he acted in self-defense when he grabbed a knife, chased Henry and stabbed him.
