Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir is on an official visit to Egypt aimed at strengthening military cooperation and defence collaboration between the two countries, said the military's media wing on Thursday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Munir met Egyptian Minister of Defence and Defence Production General Abdul Maged Saqar and Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa Fatehi.

The statement added that discussions focused on “matters of mutual interest, the regional security situation, and bilateral defence cooperation.”
