Quebec will legislate a ban on the wearing of religious symbols in childcare centers, known as CPEs in the province, and subsidized daycares.
On the other hand, the ban on face coverings in public spaces at all times, as desired by CAQ activists, is still far from being implemented.
This is what the Minister responsible for Secularism, Jean-François Roberge, suggested during a press briefing on Thursday morning in parliament.
He confirmed that the government would comply with the recommendation of the Pelchat-Rousseau report on strengthening secularism, which advocated banning religious symbols in subsidized childcare services.
