PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) - The City of Portland will open two new overnight shelters, adding 280 beds for homeless people undergoing substance abuse recovery.

The new shelters will be City Team Grand, located at 526 SE Grand Avenue, and SE Grand Recovery, located at 614 SE Grand Avenue.

This brings the total number of new beds created by the city since January 2025 to 1,090, with Mayor Keith Wilson aiming for 1,500 by year-end.

“As it gets colder at night, these shelters provide lifesaving beds for people sleeping outside,” said Mayor Keith Wilson. “Our goal is a warm, safe bed for every person, every night as we help our neighbors off the streets, and keep them off the streets.”

The city says the new shelters require guests to be committed to sobriety and not under the influence of drugs
