BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Two Coast men were sentenced to 58 years for second-degree murder and aggravated assault.
Rashod Omrion Jarome Harris, 21 of Biloxi, pleaded guilty earlier this month. Harry Lavern Hillard, Jr., 19 of Gulfport, pleaded guilty in July.
Both men had 30 years of their sentence suspended, leaving 28 years to serve in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. They will also have to complete 10 years of post-release supervision.
Officials said Harris and Hillard shot two people on McDonnell Avenue in Biloxi on August 26, 2023.
Damari Daniels, 20, died on the scene, and a 22-year-old was injured.
Days later, Harris and Hillard were arrested after a police pursuit on I-10 in Jackson County that ended on the Pascagoula River Bridge.
