ESCANABA, MI – A fire broke out this afternoon at Race Ramps in Escanaba, WBUP/WJMN reports .
The blaze at the vehicle ramp manufacturing plant on 20th Avenue North gave off a huge, dark plume of smoke, prompting air quality concerns from the local emergency manager, the report said.
Delta County Emergency Manager Paul Geyer issued as Hazardous Materials Warning because the smoke could carry particles from industrial-grade plastic used to make ramps, the report said.
