Two Metropolitan Police officers who worked at Charing Cross Police Station have been sacked after a BBC Panorama documentary aired footage showing behaviour which amounted to gross misconduct.

The programme, which was televised earlier this month and is still available to watch on iPlayer, contained evidence of officers stationed at the branch bragging about violence and making racist comments.

A hearing in south London on Thursday was told of one instance whereby Pc Philip Neilson appears to refer to an immigrant who had overstayed his visa, saying "either put a bullet through his head or deport him".

James Berry KC, on behalf of the appropriate authority, described to the court how another officer, Pc Martin Borg, "revelled in the use of force on detainees",
