CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Hair loss is a common side effect of GLP-1 medications, but it's not talked about often. Local hair salons have noticed an influx of people experiencing it.
"This is called telogen effluvium, and it's a normal reactive thing that your body does. It's a reaction to stress and weight loss," said Dr. Cate Varney, the Obesity Medicine Director for the University of Virginia Health System.
