CNN will air a TV documentary about the Louvre jewel heist that shook Paris on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 8 p.m.
“The Heist: The Louvre’s Stolen Crown Jewels” will also be available to stream via the cabler’s All Access subscription beginning Oct. 28.
The special, which is part of CNN’s “FlashDocs” unit, will feature analysis from journalists, art-crime investigators and experts on all things relating to the French museum and cultural institution. On Oct. 19, thieves dressed up as construction workers entered the Louvre during operating hours via an industrial ladder and stole eight pieces of the French Crown Jewels worth more than $100 million. CNN sets out to explore how a seven-minute heist in broad daylight turned the most important museum in the world into a crime scene.
