The Giants are turning up the heat in San Francisco, and they’ve found the perfect spark plug. On October 22, the team announced that Tennessee’s fiery and crazily successful HC Tony Vitello will take over as the new skipper. The move came from the president of baseball operations, Buster Posey, who’s betting big on energy, passion, and a little chaos to wake the Giants up.
Vitello’s got no pro managing experience but enough solid stuff on his résumé, including a 341–131 record, three College World Series trips, and Tennessee’s first national title in 2024. Fans, though, are talking about something else completely. Remember that infamous moment when Vitello chest-bumped an umpire during a 2022 game?
