AUGUSTA - Maine home sales were up 5 percent in September.

According to Maine Listings, more than 1,500 single family homes changed hands.

The average listing price was $402,500.

That's a slight decrease compared to September 2024.

2025 President of the Maine Association of Realtors Jeff Harris says " As we move through 2025, for many markets in Maine , sellers and buyers are on more equal footing for negotiating their home purchase. We are seeing an increasing number of homes for sale, increasing time-on-market, and pricing concessions which eases the competition that buyers have been facing for the past five years. We're moving beyond the pandemic frenzy."
