KNOX -- Police are investigating a shooting in the town of Knox. According to Maine State Police, law enforcement responded to the Bailey Road in Knox just before 4:30 p.m. Thursday for the reported shooting.

State Police say their investigation, alongside the Waldo County Sheriff's Office, is ongoing, but they believe this is an isolated incident.

A portion of the Bailey Road was shut down for that investigation According to scanner traffic, the individual who was shot was transported to a local hospital, but not by a first responder.

The condition of the victim is currently unknown. We'll bring you more information as it becomes available.
