The police watchdog will investigate the force's actions leading up to the death of Amen Teklay.

Teenager Amen was killed in an attack on Clarendon Street in St George's Cross in Glasgow on 5 March.

Two boys, aged 15 and 16, deny the murder of the 15-year-old.

BBC Scotland reports that the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (Pirc) will investigate the police actions leading up to the death.

At the High Court in Glasgow, prosecutors claim the boys - who cannot be identified due to their age - brandished a sword and frying pan at Amen while both masked.
