LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville Metro Department of Corrections officer was arrested after police say he used the emergency lights on his vehicle to get out of traffic, according to court documents.
In June 2025, Bradley Hansford was driving across the Clark Memorial Bridge when he activated both his spotlight and emergency lights on a vehicle ahead of him. After passing the vehicle, he turned the lights off and continued northbound into Indiana.
The driver ahead of him was an off-duty St. Matthews Police officer who believed he was about to be carjacked by Hansford and called 911.
Once in Indiana, the off-duty officer followed Hansford into the WesBanco parking lot in Jeffersonville and updated dispatch. Jeffersonville officers responded shortly thereafter.
