Josh Sirefman, Michigan Central’s founding CEO, is leaving his post after three and a half years.

Michigan Central did not provide a reason for Sirefman's departure but said Thursday the organization did not renew his annual contract. Sirefman has been with Michigan Central since 2022.

Carolina Pluszczynski, Michigan Central COO, is taking on expanded day-to-day leadership responsibilities, while Mary Culler will continue to lead the project’s strategy as chair, officials said. Sirefman will help with the transition. The former train station, abandoned since the late 1980s, reopened in June 2024 after a renovation spearheaded by Ford Motor Co. as part of a $940 million investment in the building and surrounding campus.
