Costco is set open its fifth store in Victoria continuing its expansion in the state.

The US supermarket chain has announced plans to open a store in Pakenham, 53km southeast of Melbourne .

As well as stocking a range of bulk goods the location will also feature a petrol station.

Costco Australia’s Country Manager Chris Tingman said Pakenham was a “dynamic and fast-growing area” and that when deciding on new locations, proximity to members was important.

“When deciding on new warehouse locations, the focus is to find lots that are close to our members, and are large enough to house our comprehensive range of goods, speciality services, fuel stations, and car parks,” he said.
