CINCINNATI (WXIX) - As a part of a self scout of the Cincinnati Bengals’ defense during the off weekend following the win on Thursday Night Football, linebackers coach Mike Hodges watched all 50 of rookie linebacker Demetrius Knight’s tackles in 2025. Hodges also watched every one of Knight’s missed tackles, which is up to 11 on the season according to Football Reference.
Hodges looked for common themes, trends and techniques that he could coach Knight up on.
“There are fundamental areas in his tackling that we need to get better at,” Hodges said. “We started that on Monday. We’ll do it again today. He’s going to get it right. It’s not a physical ability thing. It’s a technique thing. That’s really his coach’s fault. I’ve got to own that.”
