INDIANAPOLIS — The Metropolitan School District of Warren Township Board of Education voted to cancel the teaching contract of a former dance coach who had remained employed in another teaching role after resigning from the dance team in September.

The decision follows an internal district review regarding a September 18 incident during a dance team practice in which several students were injured.

“This decision to cancel the contract is a necessary step as the district moves to rebuild trust and focus on our students and families,” said Board President Rachel Burke.
