FRANKFORT, Ky. — Three months after a Kentucky State Police trooper was shot in the leg during a traffic stop near the Blue Grass Airport Lexington, the four people who rushed to help him are being recognized.
KSP awarded the four the Citation for Meritorious Achievement, the highest honor the agency can give a non-trooper.
“Jimmy, Jessica, Taylor and Adam. What you did, the actions you took that day, saved a life,” said KSP Commissioner Col. Phillip Burnett Jr.
The agency released dash cam and body worn camera footage of the incident as well. It showed the moment Trooper Jude Remilien was injured, and the good samaritans rending first aid after.
