A new restaurant from acclaimed chef Dallas McGarity is coming to the Highlands.
McGarity, who opened The Fat Lamb in 2016 and was named a James Beard Award semifinalist in the "Best Chef Southeast" category in 2024, is behind the new concept called Cipollini.
A cipollini is a small, flat, sweet Italian onion.
The new restaurant is set to open at 1606 Bardstown Road at the former home of LouVino, according to a notice from Louisville's department of Alcoholic Beverage Control .
After 10 years of serving wine and small bites on Bardstown Road, LouVino closed its Highlands location in September 2024. The space has been vacant since then.
Tarek Hamada, general manager of Grassa Gramma , is also listed as a partner of the new restaurant, according to the public notice.
