HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) -- Shaver's Creek Environmental Center will be closed for a few weeks to prepare for construction work on the visitor parking lot and other improvements, starting Monday, Oct. 27.

According to the center, work is being done to expand the parking lot as well as make improvements to existing stormwater mitigation efforts, and will need to be closed to the public intermittently throughout the fall and winter months while the project is in process.

"The parking lot expansion will be a big presence through the fall and winter but will ultimately assist us in serving the public by increasing capacity and accessibility for visitors, while also redirecting stormwater runoff away from roads and trails," Joshua Potter, Associate Director of Operations for Shaver`s Cre
