SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) — The Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island is urging Smithfield Public Schools to follow through on its promise to discipline the football players accused of hazing and making antisemitic remarks toward another student earlier this month.

Smithfield Superintendent Dr. Dawn Bartz told 12 News nearly two weeks ago that the district's investigation into the incident uncovered "inappropriate conduct among a small number of students" on the high school football team.

Bartz said the student-athletes involved would not participate for the remainder of the season as a result of the investigation.
