The Boone County prosecuting attorney filed charges Thursday against a Columbia man accused of stabbing his brother in the leg.
Steven Swanson, 36, is charged with first-degree domestic assault causing serious physical injury and armed criminal action in connection to the Wednesday stabbing.
A probable cause statement alleges that Swanson was in a car arguing with someone before stabbing them in the right leg.
The statement says the victim identified Swanson as a brother.
The statement alleges that Swanson ran away after the stabbing but was taken into custody with a knife in his possession.
Boone County Jail records show Swanson was booked into the jail around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.
He is being held at the jail without bond.
