A 15-year-old Edmonton teen that was already in custody has now had charges of terrorism, violating a terrorism peace bond and child pornography offences added against them.

On Oct. 2, the RCMP Federal Policing Northwest Region’s Integrated National Security Enforcement Team arrested the youth, who can’t be identified because of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The teen was being held at the Edmonton Youth Offender Centre subject to a terrorism peace bond pursuant to s. 810.011 of the Criminal Code – ‘Fear of terrorism offence’ in relation to allegedly escalatory behaviour in a February 2025 incident.

According to the RCMP, the youth’s personal devices had been examined following their initial arrest, and evidence gathered supported the charges laid on Oct. 2.
