EUGENE, Ore. - HIV Alliance has received a $12,000 grant from the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation to support individuals experiencing houselessness and low incomes, the nonprofit organization said.
This funding aims to improve access to HIV care and prevention services across Coos, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, and Lane Counties. According to HIV Alliance officials, the grant will be used to purchase essential cold weather survival items, including emergency shelter supplies and hygiene products. These resources will be offered to at-risk, unhoused community members in the region.
HIV Alliance provides a range of services such as rapid testing and syringe services. Last year, they served 8,814 people who use drugs, with at least half being unhoused or unstably housed.
