KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The streetcar will go all the way to the University of Missouri-Kansas City Friday. The Main Street Extension will start running after a ceremony at 10 a.m.
Phyllis Manley owns Phyllis's Barber Shop. She's been near the same corner at 40th and Main for 33 years. FOX4 asked her how much the KC Streetcar work has impacted her barber shop.
"The construction has affected my business about 50 percent," Manley said Thursday.
However, she thinks her business will increase 150% now that the line will be running past her shop with a stop less than a block away.
"The walking of the people, the bus stops and everything... I just think it's going to be a great thing for Kansas City," Manley said. "I'm just going to try to take advantage of it."
Basically, next door, Soli Deo -
