HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A 22-year-old Hartford man has been charged with felony murder in connection to the death of a 25-year-old in Hartford in August.
According to the Hartford Police Department, officers responded to 3250 Main Street at around 1:42 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 24 for a report of a shooting. At the scene, the officers found 25-year-old Niajae Vernon of Hartford, who was unresponsive and taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police later identified 22-year-old Courtney Byrd as a suspect and arrested him on Thursday. He has been charged with felony murder and possession of a pistol without a permit. He is being held on a $950,000 bond.
