Chennai: A fresh low-pressure area is set to form over the southeast and adjoining central-east Bay of Bengal on October 24, promising to extend the ongoing spell of rainfall across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The system is forecast to move west-northwestwards over the next 24 hours, gaining further strength and influencing the state’s weather for the coming week.
The coastal, northern, and interior districts, which have already been receiving good rainfall from previous systems, are expected to see continued showers. For Chennai and its suburbs, the forecast for today predicts a partly cloudy sky with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms in a few areas, with temperatures ranging between 24°C and 31°C.
