Week 9 of high school football across the Lone Star State has arrived, and this week's slate features multiple important games across the Texas Panhandle.

To get things started, Palo Duro welcomes Plainview to Dick Bivins stadium for an exciting District 2-5A Division II contest that could turn into a shootout.

The Dons are 3-0 in district play and fresh off a 36-33 win against Lubbock-Cooper, while Abilene Cooper took the Bulldogs 56-43 last week. The PD and Plainview have both scored at least 35 points in each of their last six contests and could put up plenty again on Thursday.

Wyatt Martinez's team also beat the Pirates, taking down Lubbock-Cooper 55-44 on Sept. 26. Since then, though, the Bulldogs have fallen to Wichita Falls Legacy and Abilene Cooper, but scored more than 40 point
