LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Kentucky Country Day football left no doubt in a key district matchup, shutting out Bethlehem 44-0 last Friday night — one year after needing overtime to edge the Eagles by a single point.
It was the Bearcats’ second shutout of the season and their fourth game topping 40 points, pushing them to 7-0.
“I thought we were physical Friday night, and that’s what we want,” head coach Matt Jones said. “We kind of took the wind out of Bethlehem’s sails by doing that.”
Senior quarterback Caden Long delivered a perfect night, going 8-for-8 for 143 yards and two touchdowns.
“We work really hard throughout practice,” Long said. “When the defense is up, I’ll grab a few receivers to throw routes so we’re always sharpening.”
Jones praised Long’s command of the flex option offense.
