EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- The man who was arrested and charged with criminally negligent homicide after he had a physical confrontation with his mother's ex-boyfriend had his bond amount lowered on Thursday, Oct. 23.
Jeremiah Nathanial Aguilar, 23, who has been jailed for 14 days as of Thursday, had his bond initially set at $100,000.
During his bond hearing, Defense Attorney Brian Livingston requested Judge Antonio Aun to grant a personal recognizance bond, arguing that Aguilar's mother is struggling financially.
"She is currently behind on her mortgage," Livingston told the judge.
Assistant District Attorney Talisa Gutierrez argued that the bond should be kept at $50,000 because there is a "descendant."
