A podcast episode from WNYC’s “Our Common Nature” featuring Interior Alaska will be released Wednesday, Oct. 29. The series focuses on how culture can connect people to nature through music.
“Our Common Nature” host Ana Gonzalez told the News-Miner “The through line through all of it is the way that culture and music and making art can connect us to nature.”
The series features Yo-Yo Ma’s musical journey through the United States and his effort to connect with communities and nature.
Gonzalez said that during the Covid-19 pandemic, cellist Yo-Yo Ma was looking for ways to safely connect with people outdoors and give them a sense of hope during an uncertain time. He played a duo with friend and pianist Emanuel Ax for dairy farm workers in western Massachusetts and was inspired to perform
