LINCOLN COUNTY, OREGON, Ore. — East of Lincoln City in the Siuslaw National Forest, there’s a trail that combines an easy walk with a big payoff: Drift Creek Falls.

The three-mile round-trip hike takes you through mossy old growth; towering evergreens; and cool, shaded forest. The path is well-maintained and family-friendly, making it one of the most popular hikes along the Oregon Coast.

Visitors say it’s a must-see.

“This was a recommended local hike, and we liked the outdoors and we liked the hike and it wasn't a reasonable distance, so we thought we'd check it out, and it sounded beautiful,” said Julie Patnode, from Olympia, Washington.

“Oh, it’s fabulous,” she added.

The hike builds anticipation as you get closer to its highlight: a suspension bridge swaying high above the canyon.
